In Marseilles, a floret of technology is totally abandonned. In Marseilles, a funny yellow submarine is abandoned at the bottom of a hangar in the port of Estaque. This floret of French technology, developed by the IFREMER and the COMEX was the first to make it possible to work on all kinds of underwater building sites in a completely autonomous way and to release divers up to six hundred meters of depth.

Cotton is a gift of the Earth. Cotton is cultivated in many countries and so an important work force labor is necessary every year. However, cotton can bear moderate climates except extreme temperature like frost. In Mali, cotton is sown at the beginning of Winter with the arrival of big rains. A cotton plant takes from 110 to 120 days to grow up in rain culture. In irrigated culture, this period can be longer because of the moisture contente of the soil.

SAINT GOTHARD'S TUNNEL : Colossal works for a world record (39 photos)
In 1997, after almost a 50 years long planning, the works for the longest tunnel of the world (57Km) have started. 10 years later half of the works has been done. Night and day works are carried out by 2200 employees. They dig the mountain using explosives or tunnel boring machines. Once finished, the tunnel will enable a high speed link between Zurich and Milan in order to ease the development of goods’ and persons’ rail transportation. Important benefits, especially for the environment, are expected.
