In this underpopulated zone, largest wind turbines projects follow one another. The Champagne pouilleuse, the south-west area of the Champagne region, is quickly becoming the new wind turbines belt of France, a real competitor to coastal areas. This agricultural region is depopulated and its open landscapes are not visited by tourists. Noone is against the erection of wind turbines, not even migratory birds. And the villages are delighted to get new tax incomes.
The bgigest building site of France with 42 wind turbines has just been achieved and the renewable energy firms have many more projects in the Champagne pouilleuse area.
