On the edge of an emerald-green sea, a wide road is running along the 1060 mile long coast sprinkled with fishermen villages. In harbours, dhows are dozing, remembering the glorious times when Sinbad the Sailor would be prowling the Indian Oceanat their stem. Beautifully restored castles and fortresses seem to still protect lost mountain villages, while the ochre arising fromf the desert's infinity leads you to meet the Bedouins.
In Dhofar, close to the Yemen border, grows the Boswella Sacra, an incense tree whose resin has been providing the fragrance of many a religious ceremonies ever since the antiquity.
In the first century, Romans would call this part of the world Arabia felix, happy Arabia.
