Aromatic plant, the lavender puts some brigthtness in our land-scape for summer-time.
The long blue stripes in the fields compose a wide scenery with small touches representing cabanons and tiny villages in the strong light of Provence sky.
The harvest period begins around mid july. So, flowers are selected, dried and distiled with modern processes but you still can find old artisanal procedures to get the precious lavender essence.
This product is mainely used in the parfume and pharmaceutic industries.
Its nice smell give a fresh sensation and the dried flowers put in little woven bag offer a sweet perfume in the houses. Specific agricultural activity of our région, lavender remains one of the Provence symbols.
